About Me

Telling true stories well.

I’m Grace, I’m a Minneapolis-based writer and podcaster dedicated to telling true stories with an interest in pop culture, history and politics.

I grew up a lover of stories. I was constantly watching or reading something new, or enamored by what made my favorite shows, movies and books so satisfying that I couldn’t wait to re-watch or read them. When I entered college, my love of storytelling translated into a degree in Journalism with a minor in History at the University of Minnesota.

I explain my degree to family, friends and strangers at the grocery store as the study of storytelling. I’ve spent the last three years learning how to find, report and articulate news stories through written and visual mediums like photography, videography and graphic design. I’ve found joy and a sense of duty in understanding what matters to a local community, and sharing information they need in a connective way.

But the key through line in my education is that a good story is simply one that makes you feel. I’ve learned how to ask questions like: What about this story appeals to me as an audience member? How could it have been told more fairly, complexly and effectively? Whose voice is not being heard here? What draws me in and makes me want to read, watch or listen further?

From a love of stories grew my passion for storytelling. I’m dedicated to using my technical skills in written, audio and visual communication to tell them well.
